Eads & Bettesworth brings together two highly experienced marina industry leaders. That’s a considerable amount of marina experience. We prefer to think of it as useful rather than alarming.
Jon Eads and Mick Bettesworth are both Certified Marina Professionals (CMPs) and former board directors of major marina groups. Their combined careers span marina operations, acquisitions, investment, development, business transformation and commercial growth.
Jon Eads
Jon Eads CMP brings nearly five decades of hands-on experience across the marina and leisure marine industries. A former President of British Marine and long-serving non-executive director, Jon also served as a Director of National Boat Shows and was a founding member of The Green Blue environmental initiative. As Non-Executive Chairman of TheYachtMarket.com he helped shape the company’s strategy and led its landmark title sponsorship of the Southampton Boat Show in 2017 and 2018. His wider career includes senior executive and commercial roles with MDL Marinas, Salterns Marina and Premier Marinas.
Jon combines board-level insight with practical operational experience, advising marina and boatyard businesses on strategy, performance, redevelopment and sustainable long-term growth.
Mick Bettesworth
Mick Bettesworth CMP, a Chartered Surveyor with 35 years of operational marina experience, combines his property qualifications with his marina operations and waterside development expertise.
Mick graduated from the International Marina Institute (IMI) Advanced Marina Management School in 1994 and became the first European Certified Marina Manager in 1995. A fluent French speaker, he sat on the Boards of the International Marina Institute, the Association of Marina Industries and was founding Chairman of the prestigious Global Marina Institute. He is an Honorary Certified Marina Professional. He spent 25 years with the MDL group culminating in the role of Chief Commercial Officer. He has operated Mick Bettesworth Marina Consultants for the last 13 years and sits on a number of Boards of Directors.
